Best Duralyst OS-300 Manufacturer, Factories

Duralyst OS-300 is a high surface area, iron oxide promoted activated alumina catalyst used to scavenge oxygen in Claus reactors.

Product Description

Oxygen Scavenging Solution

Duralyst OS-300 is a high surface area, iron oxide promoted activated alumina catalyst used to scavenge oxygen in Claus reactors.

Duralyst OS-300 serves as a top-layer catalyst in Claus converters, effectively reacting with oxygen to prevent sulfation of alumina catalyst. Oxygen reacting with SO2 on the catalyst surface to form sulfate is a major cause of catalytic activity loss. This specially promoted catalyst is particularly effective in mitigating sulfate formation on activated alumina in converters where oxygen infiltration poses a challenge.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the primary function of Duralyst OS-300?
Duralyst OS-300 is a high surface area, iron oxide promoted activated alumina catalyst designed to function as a top-layer catalyst in Claus converters, where it scavenges oxygen and prevents the sulfation of the underlying alumina catalyst.
How does oxygen infiltration affect Claus reactor catalysts?
When oxygen infiltrates the converter, it reacts with SO2 on the catalyst surface to form sulfate. This sulfation is a primary cause of activity loss in activated alumina catalysts. Duralyst OS-300 mitigates this by reacting with oxygen to prevent sulfation.
What is the operating temperature range for Duralyst OS-300?
The catalyst operates efficiently within a temperature range of 180 °C to 400 °C.
What are the available physical sizes and shapes of this catalyst?
It is available in spherical shape with two nominal sizes: 4.8 mm (3/16 inch) and 6.4 mm (1/4 inch).
What is the expected shelf life of the catalyst?
Duralyst OS-300 features a highly stable formulation with an expected shelf lifetime of more than 5 years.
What packaging options are available for shipment?
The catalyst is packaged in two standard sizes: 800 kg big bags or 140 kg drums.
