Understanding the crystallographic parameters, adsorption mechanisms, and structural kinetics of Zeolite 13X (NaX Type).
Type 13X is an alkali metal aluminosilicate with a sodium crystal structure. The nominal pore aperture of 13X molecular sieve is 10 Ångströms (1.0 nm), allowing it to co-adsorb critical impurities like H2O, CO2, H2S, and heavy hydrocarbons while leaving smaller molecules unaffected.
Due to its high theoretical silica-to-alumina ratio (SiO2/Al2O3 ≈ 2.5), 13X provides superior mass transfer rates. It features a larger macro-pore volume compared to 3A or 4A sieves, which optimizes adsorption kinetics in dynamically loaded beds.
Engineered to withstand cyclic thermal shocks in Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) and Temperature Swing Adsorption (TSA) units, our 13X maintains its skeletal structure at regeneration temperatures up to 350°C.
Why leading global gas producers are transitioning to premium Chinese molecular sieve manufacturers for their operational feedstock.
Chinese manufacturers benefit from direct access to high-grade local mineral deposits. We control the raw material process from high-purity sodium silicate to aluminate synthesis. This absolute supply security minimizes impurities such as free soda or iron oxide, guaranteeing that the final 13X molecular sieve exhibits minimal attrition rates and maximum void volume.
With massive automated production complexes like our facilities in Shanghai and Wuxi, we achieve significant processing efficiencies. These scale savings are directly reflected in our 13X molecular sieve quotes, allowing international buyers to secure premium adsorbents at a fraction of Western brand prices without sacrificing physical or thermodynamic performance.
Our formulations match the standard pore volume and selectivity profiles of leading global products like Honeywell UOP's 13X series. Whether you need standard 13X, 13X-APG (for air purification), or 13X-HP (for medical oxygen PSA plants), our materials seamlessly drop into existing beds.
From heavy industry desulfurization to life-saving medical oxygen concentration units.
Before air is liquefied, moisture, carbon dioxide, and trace hydrocarbons must be removed to prevent cold-box blockages. 13X-APG molecular sieve is the gold standard for this, displaying exceptionally high dynamic adsorption capacity for both CO2 and H2O simultaneously.
Mercaptans (H2S and organic sulfur species compounds) pose severe corrosion risks to transport pipelines. The large pore size of 13X allows it to trap these bulky sulfur species while dehydration takes place within the same multi-layered vessel.
Medical oxygen generators rely on nitrogen-selective zeolites. Through the substitution of sodium cations in the 13X matrix, the nitrogen adsorption capacity is enhanced, yielding high-purity oxygen (>93% to 95%) from ambient air streams.
Decarbonization, hydrogen purification, and clean energy storage solutions engineered for sustainable growth.
With global climate mandates intensifying, energy producers require efficient carbon scrubbing materials. The electrostatic field within the cage structures of the 13X crystal framework exhibits high affinity for quadrupole molecules like carbon dioxide. This makes it an ideal candidate for industrial flue gas CO2 capture systems operating under high pressure.
As green hydrogen production gains momentum, polishing trace moisture and atmospheric impurities from hydrogen streams becomes a key bottleneck. Our specialized 13X molecular sieves ensure that high-purity hydrogen meets strict ISO 14687 Grade D fuel cell specifications by reducing contaminants to sub-ppm levels.
Purifying biogas into pipeline-grade biomethane involves removing volatile organic compounds (VOCs), carbon dioxide, and hydrogen sulfide. JOOZEO's customized multi-bed adsorption configurations maximize methane recovery while protecting downstream compressors and pipelines.
Critical engineering metrics you must evaluate to ensure optimal adsorbent performance and service life.
Higher crushing strength (>80 N for spherical beads) prevents bead breakages under gas velocities, protecting gas compressors from dust carryover.
Determines the maximum water weight the sieve can hold. Our 13X consistently registers static water adsorption > 26% at 25°C.
Controls the absolute weight of material needed to fill the vessel volume. Our optimized bulk density of 0.65-0.72 g/mL ensures maximum active material per cubic meter.
An attrition rate of less than 0.1% prevents pressure drop spikes in the bed, ensuring a typical service lifespan of 3 to 5 years.

Technical clarifications on performance parameters, configuration configurations, regeneration cycles, and sourcing.
While a 13X sieve has a higher overall capacity and can adsorb water effectively, its larger pore diameter (10 Å) also co-adsorbs larger molecules like CO2, H2S, and heavy hydrocarbons. If your goal is strictly water drying without co-adsorbing feed gas components like hydrocarbons, a 4A or 3A molecular sieve is often preferred to avoid unintended selectivity issues and hydrocarbon loss.
For thermal swing adsorption (TSA) processes, typical regeneration gas temperatures should be between 200°C and 350°C. Lower temperatures may not fully desorb tightly bound molecules like water, leading to capacity loss in subsequent cycles. Temperatures exceeding 400°C should be avoided to prevent structural degradation of the NaX crystal framework.
Static capacity represents the absolute equilibrium limit of the sieve under sealed, static conditions. Dynamic capacity (breakthrough capacity) takes gas flow velocity, bed geometry, and mass transfer zone (MTZ) length into account. For air purification processes, the design is based on dynamic capacity, which is typically 45% to 60% of the static equilibrium value.
Pressure drops are usually caused by bead attrition and dusting, often resulting from low crushing strength, incorrect loading methods, or excessive gas velocities. JOOZEO molecular sieves are manufactured with a high crushing strength (>80 N) and low attrition loss (<0.1%) to prevent dusting and maintain stable pressure drops throughout their service life.
